What is Care Without Compromise?

At Pinehurst Neuropsychology, our priority has always been simple: You, Your Story, Your Health, and Your Experience.

After 12 years in an insurance-based model, we transitioned to a Direct Care Practice on November 10, 2025 to protect the quality, privacy, and integrity of our work.

Why We Made The Change

Direct Care allows us to:

  • Make clinical decisions based on what is best for you, not insurance rules
  • Spend more time with every person and their family
  • Offer transparent pricing with no surprise bills
  • Protect your privacy: you own your report, and you choose who sees it

Why It Matters

Insurance-driven healthcare has become increasingly restrictive and unsustainable for specialized services, like neuropsychology. Testing limits, billing denials, and administrative demands now interfere with thoughtful, person-centered care, especially for adults experiencing cognitive change.

Access also matters. Medical office space in Pinehurst is limited and costly, and many of our patients live in rural North Carolina or face mobility challenges. To meet this need, we developed a HIPAA-compliant telehealth evaluation model that maintains the same depth, accuracy, and human connection as in-person care.

As national telehealth policies continue to shift, our move to a Care Without Compromise model protects long-term access to specialty brain health services. It ensures stability for our patients now—and for years to come.

Simply put, we refuse to do more for less. This model keeps our focus where it belongs: on you and your care.
